Bird Peterson
Austin, Texas
Taking the chaos that is today’s musical terrain and creating danceable cohesion is what electronic disc jockey, producer and remix artist Bird Peterson is all about. A native of Texas, Peterson gained widespread notoriety for his blend of rhythms, basslines and hot jams, thanks especially to blogs like Discobelle and Gorilla vs. Bear.
In 2001, Peterson released the debut Give Em Hell, Bird! Since this first release, his popularity has grown, allowing him billing with the likes of MSTRKRFT, Diplo, DJ AM and Tiesto. Self-proclaimed authority on what makes the youth of the nation bounce, Peterson works hard to keep his music as funky as possible. This can be seen through his remixes of “It Ain’t Love” by MSTRKRFT, possibly one of his most famous bits, and Wale’s “Freaks.” These songs only scratch the surface of his music arsenal, as he has created remixes of artists like Wolfgang Gartner, Tiesto, Ocelot, Three 6 Mafia and Felix Cartal, in addition to crafting his own originals.
