Richmond has a storied musical past: hardcore, crustpunk, grindcore, bro-emo, less-bro-emo. Nosebleed carries the torch for the no-nonsense school of hardcore, whipping fuzzed-out riffs over the traditional slam of pummeling interplay between snare and kick drum. There’s more at work than just adhering to genre templates, though. Nosebleed cut their teeth within the city’s thriving, sweaty house-show scene, but they’ve obviously done their homework on how to deliver the goods on record. Their self-titled 7”, released last year, has the guitars panned hard and turned up loud, ready to drill into your skull.
