CAM Raleigh joins Hopscotch 2012
Submitted on Nov 14, 2011
Last week, we announced the addition of The Long View Center to Hopscotch 2012. Today, Raleigh's gorgeous Contemporary Art Museum (CAM) joins our list of participating venues.
CAM Raleigh opened its doors in April at 409 West Martin St. and quickly became a cornerstone of the emerging warehouse district. The museum is the product of a collaboration with N.C. State University's College of Design and is intended to "spark new thinking by creating ever-changing experiences that explore what's now and nearing." Additionally, CAM and Hopscotch share an existing special relationship: The Independent, presenter of Hopscotch, funded the museum's permanent Independent Weekly Gallery to showcase the work of emerging artists.
For Hopscotch fans, the building is situated conveniently between Five Star, The Union, and White Collar Crime. Next September, Hopscotch will take over CAM's Main Gallery to present shows in this new and unique space. We're grateful for the opportunity and look forward to announcing more components of our partnership in coming months. In the meantime, please visit CAM Raleigh's website for information about current exhibitions, events, and more: http://camraleigh.org/.

Hopscotch is Sept. 6-8, 2012. The festival features 15 venues and 175 bands.
Tickets go on sale December 1st at http://hopscotchmusicfest.com/.
