HOOPscotch Charity Game Announced

Submitted on Sep 02, 2011

Basketball logo y'all!

To honor the sweet love and irrational obsession North Carolina (and our staff) has for the game of basketball, we are delighted to present HOOPscotch, a charity game to benefit Raleigh’s Helping Hand Mission.

HOOPscotch is a party happening Friday, Sept. 9, in a parking lot on Hargett Street in the warehouse district. While there, you can experience Larry’s Beans fair trade organic coffee, succulent swine from The People’s Barbecue, a DJ set from Grammy Award winning producer 9th Wonder, the Helping Hand Marching Band, Raleigh’s (in)famous Tony Woodard on the Mic, The Beast, Kooley High, Freakers, a lot of Red Bull, and of course, musicians attempting to compete at basketball. It’s also BYOB!

The game itself—Team NC vs. Team USA—mirrors Hopscotch’s lineup, which is comprised of roughly 40% local and 60% national bands. Members of Times New Viking, The Love Language, All Tiny Creatures, Birds of Avalon, Invisible Hand, Bombadil, Mount Moriah and many more will battle it out for your viewing pleasure.

Please join us in helping raise money for a tremendous organization by bringing a cash donation.
Seriously, don’t be the person who doesn’t have any cash.
