Hopscotch & Amplified Art announce POSTERscotch

In conjunction with Amplified Art, Hopscotch Music Festival is pleased to announce its inaugural POSTERscotch – a multi-day exhibition of work from some of North Carolina’s most acclaimed poster artists. Scheduled to coincide with the state’s largest and most diverse music event (Sept. 8-10), the exhibition will allow fans to view and purchase a variety of art, including a limited edition Hopscotch poster from each participating artist. Beginning with the opening night reception from 7-10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, and concluding on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 10, the exhibition represents Hopscotch’s continuing commitment to local creativity and its growth into areas beyond great music.
As a key component of POSTERscotch, Hopscotch is also announcing its first annual poster contest. Ten finalists will be selected by a panel of judges, and one winner will be chosen by public vote on http://hopscotchmusicfest.com/ in July. The winning design will be sold at Hopscotch, and the artist will be invited to exhibit and sell his/her work alongside other regional artists at Amplified Art. The winner will also receive two VIP wristbands (value $310) for Hopscotch Music Festival.
CONTEST GUIDELINES
All entries must include the following in the design:
• Hopscotch Music Festival
• Raleigh
• September 8, 9 & 10, 2011
SIZE
Original poster should be at least 11” x 17” and no larger than 18” x 24”.
Submissions must be in .PDF or .JPG format and no larger than 5MB.
PRINTING
Winner is responsible for the printing of all sellable copies of poster. All proceeds from the sale of the poster will go to the designer. Winner retains ownership rights of the original.
COPYRIGHT
Artwork must be original and not copied from any other published sources, including books or magazines. No team-created work will be accepted. Entries containing copyrighted materials will be disqualified.

The winner will be announced July 20, 2011.
