Hopscotch partners with Activate Good

Hopscotch Music Festival is thrilled to announce a partnership with Activate Good. Activate Good was founded with the principle that volunteering and doing good for others should be part of everyday life. As a facilitator of volunteerism, Activate Good launched a new 'Volunteer Community' in 2011, a social platform whereby individuals, groups, and companies connect to local causes, enabling them to sign up for volunteer opportunities based on their interests, schedules, and skills. Many people want to volunteer their time, but they often don't know where to start. Meanwhile, many nonprofits have a great and consistent need for volunteers, but they don't have the resources to recruit them. Activate Good closes this gap between the willing and the wanting.
Beginning today, Hopscotch fans can create a profile here-http://activategood.org/community.html to start looking for volunteer opportunities suited to their preferences. Please choose the "Hopscotch Music Fest 2012" option in the "How did you hear about Activate Good?" selection tab.
CONTEST:
The person who completes the most volunteer hours between now and April 18th (the day our Hopscotch 2012 lineup is announced) will receive a Lifetime VIP Wristband to Hopscotch. The person who volunteers for the second most hours will receive a VIP Wristband to Hopscotch 2012. To make sure we're doing our part, Hopscotch Founder Greg Lowenhagen and Co-Director Grayson Currin will match the winner's volunteer hours over the next year. If you've attended Hopscotch in the past two years, you already know how the energy and excitement of the weekend is contagious. We're hoping to spread some of that enthusiasm over the rest of the year by helping others.

This does not have anything to do with volunteering to work at Hopscotch next September. There will be an announcement on our website about specific onsite festival volunteering in the near future. This partnership only pertains to volunteering within your local community.
