POSTERscotch Winner Announced

Submitted on Jul 21, 2011

Congratulations to Sarah Parson, winner of the inaugural POSTERscotch poster contest. Prints of Sarah's winning desing (seen above) will be for sale at Hopscotch in September. She will also receive two VIP wristbands to the festival and space to exhibit her work during POSTERscotch.

We'd like to thank all of the artists who submitted their work and the fans for voting. We also want to congratulate Paul Barbour who finished just 15 votes shy in second place. In the end, we verified a discrepancy between the numbers displayed on our website and the actual results reported on Facebook, so we appreciate the artists (and fans) for being so understanding of this error. The error had nothing to do with any contestants invovled and was simply a computer glitch.

In conjunction with Amplified Art, Hopscotch will present POSTERscotch – a multi-day exhibition of work from some of North Carolina’s most acclaimed poster artists. Scheduled to coincide with the state’s largest and most diverse music event (Sept. 8-10), the exhibition will allow fans to view and purchase a variety of art, including a limited edition Hopscotch poster from each participating artist. Beginning with the opening night reception from 7-10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, and concluding on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 10, the exhibition represents Hopscotch’s continuing commitment to local creativity and its growth into areas beyond great music.
