Ticket Info, Wristband Distribution, and More

Submitted on Aug 15, 2012

The third annual Hopscotch Music Festival begins three weeks from tomorrow. We can't wait to host you in beautiful downtown Raleigh once again. Below, you will find an overview of Hopscotch ticketing, including information on wristband redemption, City Plaza details, and more.

Firstly, with the addition of Memorial Auditorium, CAM Raleigh, and The Long View Center, Hopscotch is bigger than it's ever been. Due to the considerable increase in indoor capacity, we do not expect the clubs to be as tightly packed as they’ve been in the past, nor do we expect many lines. That said, we can't control which shows fans decide to attend; if you happen to encounter a line and choose not to wait in it, please know there are 13 other shows taking place within a very short walk of where you're standing. Because we do not oversell the festival at all, there should never be more than two or three clubs with lines at any given time.

If you're contemplating buying an All-Show wristband, but have heard, as we have, that the VIP wristband is "the only way to go," please know that your experience accessing club shows with an All-Show wristband this year should be more on par with a VIP pass given the increased club capacity. Every type of ticket we offer aside from the sold-out VIP wristband—that is, the 3-day All-Show wristband, 1-day wristbands, and single City Plaza tickets—are still available here: http://hopscotchmusicfest.com/tickets/

If you're contemplating using a wristband from 2010 or 2011 to enter shows, please know the 2012 wristbands are much different than the previous two years, so the likelihood of this plan working is slim to none. If you're wearing a wristband from a previous year in line at a venue or inside one, you will be asked to leave immediately.

2012 WRISTBAND REDEMPTION

If you have a paper e-ticket for a VIP, All-Show, or 1-day wristband, or if you are a contest winner or member of the media, wristband redemption will take place in the Sheraton Hotel from Wednesday, Sept. 5 to Saturday, Sept. 8. Once inside the Sheraton lobby, please take the escalators up until they stop, or look for signage throughout the hotel directing you to wristband redemption.

Sheraton Hotel

421 South Salisbury Street, Raleigh
Wednesday, Sept. 5: Noon–9 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 6: 10 a.m.–11 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 7: 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 8: Noon–3 p.m.

Important note: This year, you will need to be at the Sheraton to receive your wristband. For example, if you're holding a paper ticket for four All-Show wristbands purchased, all four people will need to be present to receive the corresponding wristbands. We understand there are circumstances where everyone cannot be present at once, so please discuss this onsite while redeeming your ticket.

CITY PLAZA TICKET HOLDERS

If you have a paper e-ticket for a City Plaza headlining show on Friday, Sept. 7 or Saturday, Sept. 8, please bring this ticket to one of the three entrances at City Plaza. The main entrance to Raleigh City Plaza is at the intersection of Davie and Fayetteville Street. There are also entrances on Wilmington Street and Salisbury Street. We will scan your ticket for admission; you do not need to visit wristband redemption in the Sheraton Hotel.

GETTING TO HOPSCOTCH 2012

If you can take public transportation, ride your bike, or walk to Hopscotch, please do so. This is particularly important on Friday, Sept. 7, when Hopscotch coincides with Raleigh's monthly First Friday. The city will be crowded, so anything we can do to help limit traffic downtown will be extremely helpful and make the festival more enjoyable for you. We plan to have more bike racks available at Davie and Fayetteville streets to accommodate increased need. If necessary, there is paid parking available nearby. (Please note, Hopscotch does not take any money from paid parking, nor do we have a business partnership with any paid parking lot).

Thanks again for the support, and see you in three weeks! It's going to be fun.
