Long-time collaborators in various capacities, Kristopher Hilbert and Nora Rogers will come together for their first live performance. Their drone-centric works are serene meditations on the relationship between being and becoming through repetition and division. As echoes reproduce, tremolo divides, interrogating static notions of existence by revealing how sharp distinctions are commonly drawn where there are no actual boundaries. Improvised yet rule-bound, their work deconstructs what is necessary for a musical composition by seeking increasingly simpler forms without resorting to noise or dissolving into chaos; engaging the edge of sound's effable capacity.
