For the better part of five years, Nashville’s Sun Seeker have seemed poised for a breakthrough. Almost immediately, their beguiling mix of cosmic country and psychedelic wonder earned attention, leading to a 2016 single with Jack White’s Third Man Records and a terrific debut EP on the same label last summer. The six songs of Biddeford suggest the poise of vintage Real Estate and the wide-eyed enthusiasm of early Blitzen Trapper. Harmonies radiate from songs that balance existential worry with day-to-day joy, sighing pedal steel and peppy drums hovering in that bittersweet balance. Harkening to the days of classic rock quartets but eyeing a new future for blending rock and country, Sun Seeker are one of the country’s most charming young bands.
