Uproot Andy

UPROOT ANDY is an influential Brooklyn based DJ, producer and composer who's sound explores the underlying connections of global dance music culture. In 2008 he co-founded the legendary NY party 'Que Bajo' that, along with Andy’s signature remix style, helped pioneer the rise of global club music. Presently he produces and releases his music with montreal based label ‘Moonshine’, producing for the twice Juno Award nominated ’SMS for Location’ album series. His recent productions include ‘Sikoyo’ for Aluna’s Noir Fever label, contributing production for Pierre Kwenders’ Polaris prize winning album and recent single with Panamanian vocalist Nino Augustine ‘Si Esta Bien’. Andy is also the music director for Abrima Erwiah and Rosario Dawson’s fashion brand 'Studio 189' where he curates and composes original music for their runway shows at NYFW and around the world. Uproot Andy has toured extensively in Europe and Latin America and has performed in diverse settings from Ghana to the Congo, from New York's Central Park Summerstage to the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards in London and has been a mainstay of Colombia's ‘Carnaval de Barranquilla’ for more than 10 years.
